Do you know the two places a recruitment company must have a presence online? I’m Sharon Newey from Superfast Recruitment with a business news update.

There are two key places any recruitment company must have a presence online. One is Google and one is LinkedIn. And it’s LinkedIn that I want to talk to you a little bit about today. Now, very recently LinkedIn achieved over 200 million users. 11 million of those are here, right in the UK. And the UK appeared in the top five countries of LinkedIn users.

Now, all well and good, you might say. But does that really translate into business, more leads and more candidates, more profit for you? Well, the evidence suggests, yes, it does. LinkedIn compared to Facebook and Twitter, when you look at visitor-to-lead conversion ratio, has three times the number of visitor to leads that you get on Facebook and Twitter.

So what that means for you is, when you’re investing time on LinkedIn, yes, you can convert visitors into leads and fee-paying clients, candidates that you can place, your opportunity is three times greater than doing it on Facebook and Twitter.

So there are four key things I want you to think about then, when it comes to LinkedIn.

1. Firstly, make sure you’ve got a really complete LinkedIn profile. Talk about who you are. What do you do? What value do you add to our clients?

2. Secondly, when it comes to your company LinkedIn page, again, give a real kind of like feel for you, your company, the kind of services that you offer, how you offer your services, how you like to work with clients.

3. Thirdly, make sure that you join groups on LinkedIn. Look at relevant groups in your sectors.

4. And finally, make sure that you share content generally, and in groups. Share content, that demonstrates you know a lot about your sector, that you have a lot of knowledge and a lot of expertise. Position yourself as an authority and an expert in that sector.

So there you have it. Just do those four key things on LinkedIn and you’re going to put yourself and your business in a better position to capitalize on that increased three-to-one conversion ratio. I’m Sharon Newey from Superfast Recruitment. Thanks for listening.
